Olaf Malmborg, a member of the 1874 Yellowstone Wagon Road and Prospecting Expedition, went on to have three sons; Alfred, Oscar and Eduard, with his wife Nellie.   He lived in Nebraska in 1881.   He was present at the celebration in 1883 to commemorate the arrival of the Northern Pacific Railroad to Bozeman and honor the members of the 1874 expedition.  Olaf Malmborg died on August 23, 1900 in Chestnut Precinct of Gallatin County.  He is buried at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Bozeman [N 45° 40.505’, W 111° 01.588’.]  (Sitting Bull, Crazy Horse, Gold and Guns: The 1874 Yellowstone Wagon Road and Prospecting Expedition and the Battle of Lodge Grass Creek)

16th Panzer Division in Stalingrad

On August 23, 1942 west of Stalingrad, the 16th Panzer Division attacked at 4:30 a.m. and broke through enemy positions of the 87th Rifle Division east of the Don River, crossed the Tartar Ditch, crossed the Frolov-Stalingrad railroad, reached Rynok and pushed lead elements to the Volga River at Spartakovka by 4:30 p.m.  (Stalingrad: The Death of the German Sixth Army on the Volga, 1942-1943)
