Rheinbach Prison about 1930

On Friday, June 29, 1945, Master Sergeant John C. Woods hanged three German war criminals at Rheinbach Prison for killing a downed American airman during the war.  Peter Kohn was dropped at 5:05 a.m.; Matthias Gierens at 5:50 a.m. and Peter Back at 6:35 a.m.  (American Hangman: MSgt.
