Otto Kumm, SS-Brigadeführer, born October 1, 1909 in Hamburg, commander of the 7th SS Mountain Division “Prinz Eugen” and the 1st SS Panzer Division “Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler,” winner of the Knight’s Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords, survived the war and returned to Hamburg, author Prinz Eugen: The History of the 7th SS Mountain Division “Prinz Eugen,” died on March 23, 2004, said of the war: “I am unable to glorify war.
