Karl Dönitz

Otto Schniewind, Navy General Admiral, born December 14, 1887 in Saarlouis, Commander of the Fleet, winner of the Knight’s Cross of the Iron Cross, died in Linz am Rhein on March 26, 1964, wrote about Karl Dönitz in Dönitz’s officer efficiency report in 1929:

Franz Stangl

Franz Stangl, SS-Hauptsturmführer, born March 26, 1898 in Altmünster, Austria, kommandant of the Sobibór and Treblinka extermination camps, winner of the War Service Cross 1st Class, convicted of crimes against humanity, sentenced to Life Imprisonment, died of a heart attack June 28, 1971 in prison at Düsseldorf, said of himself:
