384th Infantry Division Soldiers near Stalingrad

West of Stalingrad, on November 22, 1942, the 384th Infantry Division defended in sector west of the Don River near Trekhostrovskaia to Podgorskii against the 24th Rifle Division, the 120th Rifle Division and the 49th Rifle Division.   To the southeast was the 76th Infantry Division; to the northwest was the 44th Infantry Division.  One regiment was reinforcing the 44th Infantry Division; another infantry regiment defended in sector southeast of Verkhne-Golubaja.  (Stalingrad: The Death of the German Sixth Army on the Volga, 1942-1943)
