On Monday, October 15, 1945, a U.S. Army firing squad executed U.S. Army Privates Woodrow Parker and Sydney Bennerman at the Delta Disciplinary Training Center at Les Milles, France for the crimes of rape and murder. The remains of both men are interred at the Oise-Aisne American Military Cemetery near Fère-en-Tardenois, France, in a portion of the facility generally not open to the public and termed “The Fifth Field” by the grounds-keepers.
