John Woods went Absent Without Leave (AWOL) from the Civilian Conservation Corps on September 21, 1933, but not before being insubordinate to his work detail leader and refusing to work.  These were grounds for expulsion and on September 27, 1933 the Civilian Conservation Corps dishonorably discharged John C.
