Here is a letter concerning from an author and historian specializing in the American Revolution!

“I just got done reading Dying Hard.  It is an amazing and eye-opening adventure.  I finished it in three nights.  I didn’t peruse it; I read every word.  Your work surpasses any of the World War II books written from the perspective of the big campaigns, big battles, or Band of Brothers-type of books.  It is fresh and answered so many questions that most civilians and many veterans have been looking for answers.  I particularly like the School of the Soldier segments to see how infantry live, advance, overcome and win in battle.  Introducing the vocabulary of the Grunt, and the diverse backgrounds of the men of Company B makes this story feel REAL!

My favorite chapters were the Hürtgen Forest and the defense of Elsenborn Ridge.  The former was a true education for me because I’ve only read about the overall maneuver and other tactical components of the battle.  I thank you for giving me the grunt’s view of real war and the high cost of it.  And thank you for giving me an intimate feeling of what these brave men did for us.”
